Certificate in Delivering Learning - An Introduction - No. 7302
City & Guilds Level 3 - Equivalent FETAC Level 5

Course Aim
To provide an internationally recognised teaching/training qualification,
for those new to teaching/training or those seeking professional
development.

This award introduces candidates to delivering training and can provide
career progression within the industry. It is suitable for people who work
or wish to work as part-time teachers in further and adult education, and
who are qualified in their subject.

Course Content
There are five compulsory units;

  • Key Principles of delivering learning
  • Planning and preparing sessions
  • Delivery of a micro-teaching session
  • Learning programmes
  • Learning journals and summative profiles

 

Course Duration & Format
This, 10 day intensive classroom-based course, takes place over two
consecutive weeks. During this time participants will gain practical
experience, combined with theoretical background to underpin their teaching
styles.

Course Assessment
The final day is an assessment day where participants will be assessed on
the study programme. Four, of the five units, will be assessed by the tutor
on the course and the learner will be given feedback before the course ends.
The final unit is assessed by a Belfast Institute Tutor. All assessments
are externally assessed by City & Guilds

Course Outcomes
This programme is designed to enable learners to:

  • Adopt an integrative approach to the theory and practice of teaching
    and training.
  • Reflect on their own previous/current levels of experience, practice
    and skills, and potential for development.
  • Build up knowledge of principles of learning, teaching, assessment and
    evaluation.
  • Develop their own communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Develop an awareness of their professional role, the essential value
    systems which underpin it and the legal requirements for carrying out that
    role.

Course Certification
Course evaluation takes place on the final day of the course. It is achieved
by presenting evidence of performance, which meets the requirements.
Successful candidates will receive the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in
Delivering Learning: - An Introduction.
