Static & Patrol Security - Basic Job
Training
To Qualify for PSA Registration in line with NSAI IS.999:2004
ISTA has been established since 1997 researching, developing
and delivering The Door Supervisor and other BJT (Basic Job Training)
courses. ISTA have been the forerunners in establishing and maintaining
standards in the security industry.
Today's Static & Patrol Security Officer is facing challenges
greater than ever before. In today's litigation prone society,
security officers must be aware of the legislation relating to
the Criminal Law; Discrimination; Health & Safety; to name
just a few. Rising insurance costs, increased violent assaults
and increased risk from international terrorist attacks are some
of the risks handled daily.

- Searching
- Reporting, Notebooks, Statements and Crime Scenes
- Equal Opportunities and Discrimination
- Security and Emergency Systems

- Health and Safety
- Emergencies
- Customer Care and Social Skills
- Communications and Reporting
- Drugs (optional module)
Course Duration & Format;
- 16 hours - The training takes place over two days or four
evenings.
- Written assessment at the end of the course. Supports are
available for students with literacy and learning difficulties.

The Static & Patrol Security Training course is certified
by;
Registration:
Successful completion of the Static & Patrol Security Basic
Job Training qualifies for registration with the Private Security
Authority (PSA). Registration of individuals for Licence with
the PSA will commence in April 2006. Licence Fees include an Administration
Fee of €20, plus a Sector Fee of €60. ISTA will assist
in processing the Licence Application.
